A Diagnosis That Changed Everything

Eric Dane announced his ALS diagnosis in April. In his public statement to People Magazine, he expressed gratitude for the support surrounding him: “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”

Over the months that followed, Dane remained remarkably open about his condition. In interviews, he described ALS as a “nasty, unforgiving disease,” and explained that his symptoms began subtly — with weakness in his right hand that he initially dismissed as strain from texting.

But that weakness slowly worsened.

On Good Morning America, Dane shared the difficult journey that followed:
