Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother from Minneapolis, has drawn national attention after new public comments from her wife, Rebecca Good. Speaking publicly for the first time since the incident, Rebecca said the couple stopped to support neighbors during a community action connected to immigration enforcement activity.

In her statement to Minnesota Public Radio, she stressed their intention was peaceful and driven by concern for others. “We had whistles,” she said. “They had guns.” Officials say Renee was shot during an encounter with a federal law-enforcement officer on January 7, 2026, in south Minneapolis.
