Many viewers say no. They’re convinced the arm gesture and hat tip were deliberate signals, possibly alerting someone outside the venue—the alleged shooter—to strike.
Others are more cautious, pointing out that in the heat of the moment, it’s easy to misinterpret movements. Could it have been a nervous tic? A subconscious stretch? A simple shift in body language caught at the wrong time?
In the age of social media and surveillance, the court of public opinion often gets there before the authorities do. And in this case, that public wants answers—fast.
