In an official statement, the administration labeled the coverage as “garbage” and insisted that the former president had been fully engaged, answering multiple questions from the press.
“The President was not sleeping; in fact, he spoke extensively and answered numerous questions from the press during this announcement, which represents a historic reduction in prices for Americans on two essential drugs that help individuals struggling with diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and related conditions,” the statement read.
The administration also criticized “liberal media” outlets for focusing on a perceived non-story rather than highlighting what it called a major healthcare achievement that could save Americans significant money while improving access to critical treatments.
