The crowd roared with approval, but Mamdani wasn’t done. With a mixture of defiance and confidence, he called out Trump directly, as if addressing him personally:
“Donald Trump, since I know you’re watching, I have four words for you: turn the volume up!” These words were met with thunderous applause, as Mamdani seemed to issue a challenge to Trump and the larger political establishment.
Trump Responds with Criticism
As expected, Donald Trump wasn’t pleased with Mamdani’s remarks. The president, who has long had a contentious relationship with the city of New York, quickly fired back, condemning the newly elected mayor’s speech.
