What should have been just another ordinary day for the Metropolitan Tactical Patrol Battalion team turned into a tragic event that brought to light the harsh reality of domestic violence. During a routine patrol, the officers were called to an emergency situation that, like many other cases, ended tragically.
The Emergency Call
The ROTAM members were carrying out their usual duties when they received a call to go to a couple’s residence. Upon arriving at the location, they had to break down the door, which was locked. What they found inside was a scene that no security professional would want to witness. The suspect, a 29-year-old man, was sitting calmly on the sofa, while the woman, 35 years old, lay lifeless on the bedroom floor. The situation was alarming and demanded immediate action.
