Sportscaster Christina Chambers Passes Away at Her Residence

As word spread, an outpouring of emotion followed from the journalism community and beyond. Chambers’ former employer, WBRC 6 News, released a statement expressing sorrow and remembering her as a dedicated professional with a deep love for storytelling. Former coworkers spoke of her energy, dependability, and warm presence during sports coverage and community events.

Outside the newsroom, Chambers was equally respected as an educator and mentor. After leaving full-time broadcasting, she taught broadcast journalism at Thompson High School, where she inspired students to pursue media careers. In 2024, she was honored as Advisor of the Year by the Alabama Scholastic Press Association.

Those who knew her say Chambers found her greatest fulfillment in teaching and motherhood. While her passing has left a profound void, many believe her influence endures through the students she guided, the stories she shared, and the kindness she consistently offered to others.
