After leaving high school during her sophomore year, she moved to Los Angeles with her mother shortly after her parents separated. The two endured significant hardship, at times living out of their car and later sleeping on an air mattress in an empty home owned by a family friend. Stability slowly returned when her mother found work and they rented a small room in Burbank.
