Rob Reiner & wife Michele found dead at L.A. home – wounds consistent with knife

Law enforcement officials have stated the victims suffered knife wounds consistent with stabbing, and the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division is leading the investigation. So far, no suspect has been publicly identified or taken into custody.

A family spokesperson confirmed their deaths in a statement expressing deep sorrow and asking for privacy as the family grieves.

Reiner was a major figure in American film and television — first gaining fame as “Meathead” on All in the Family, before directing enduring classics like This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…, and A Few Good Men.

Michele Singer Reiner was a photographer and producer, known for her artistic work as well as her role in Reiner’s life since they met on the set of When Harry Met Sally; they had been married since 1989 and have three children together.

Officials have not released further details on a motive, and the investigation remains active. The couple’s deaths have elicited widespread shock and tributes from fans, colleagues, and public figures.
