Reiner leaves behind a towering legacy as an actor, writer, and director. He first rose to prominence playing Michael “Meathead” Stivic on All in the Family, earning two Emmy Awards. His career later expanded into writing and directing, where he delivered some of the most beloved films of all time, including When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, Stand by Me, and Misery.

Son Arrested in Connection With the Deaths
On Monday, December 15, LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton announced that the couple’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, had been arrested and charged with murder. He is being held on $4 million bail. Nick has long battled addiction issues, which were previously chronicled in the semi-autobiographical film Being Charlie, written by Nick and directed by his father.
Reba McEntire Pays Tribute to Rob Reiner
Country legend Reba McEntire shared a heartfelt remembrance on social media. Posting a throwback photo with the late director, she wrote:
“I enjoyed every minute I was around Rob Reiner. He was one of a kind.”
McEntire worked with Reiner on the 1994 film North and noted that he also played a role in shaping the music video for her 1993 duet with Linda Davis, “Does He Love You.”
“I sure will miss him. What a gift he was to this world. Rest in peace, my friend,” she added.
