Planned Bombing Attack Thwarted in New York City.

At the time of his arrest, Gann allegedly carried an IED powerful enough to cause severe damage to a subway tunnel or a crowded sidewalk. Prosecutors say the device was fully capable of detonation.

Federal documents later stated that one of the first explosives linked to him had been thrown onto the Williamsburg Bridge subway tracks, a location that sees one of the highest commuter volumes during peak hours.

Another collection of explosive materials — including shotgun shells, metal fragments, and chemically enhanced components — was found hidden on rooftops above SoHo, a neighborhood packed with residents, visitors, and retail workers.
