As they drove through the quiet residential streets, Officer Miller helped the elderly man carry the groceries inside his modest home. He made sure that the man had everything he needed before leaving. Before departing, Officer Miller did something unexpected: he gave the elderly man his personal cell phone number.
“Next time you’re hungry, don’t steal,” Officer Miller said with a gentle smile. “Call me.”
This was more than just a one-time act of kindness. Officer Miller wanted the elderly man to know that help was always available.
