A ‘Princess Diana superfan’ was spotted in the Christmas Day crowd at Sandringham by Prince William who went on to introduce him to his three children.
Loughrey, wearing his signature hat covered in pins, then spoke to the kids and told George that Princess Diana “would be proud of you”. Princess Kate later saw Loughrey and smiled as she told him “I see you everywhere”.

Prince William and his kids walked down and greeted royal fans before spotting Loughrey and saying: “John, how are you?” William then told Prince Louis to say hello to the superfan, as the young royal shook Loughrey’s hand.
William then introduced Loughrey to Prince George, who wished the fan a Merry Christmas, before the superfan shook Charlotte’s hand.
Loughrey, while holding onto George’s hand, told the young prince he had a message for him, then said: “Nanny Diana would be ever so proud of you.”
Prince William said: “That’s very kind of you John.” Prince George responded and said “Thank you”. Loughrey, from Wandsworth, south west London, then handed the royal children several Christmas gifts, which included chocolate and a huge teddy bear that Prince Louis seemed particularly excited about.
Princess Kate later made her way through the crowd before jokingly telling the superfan: “I see you everywhere”. Kate then asked Loughrey if he saw William and the kids, before thanking the 70-year-old for a bouquet of flowers he handed to the princess.
Before walking away, Kate added: “Hopefully I will see you at our next engagement.”
Loughrey arrived at Sandringham at 9pm on Christmas Eve and sat outside the Norfolk estate on a fold up chair through the night. The superfan, who records and shares his interactions with the royals, was first in line to greet the family on Christmas Day, according to the Daily Mail.
King Charles even recognised the megafan who commented on Loughrey’s badge collection on his hat. The King said: “You’ve collected more badges since last year.”
Most of the Royal Family was present at the Christmas Day service but notably the King’s brother Andrew was not there. The ex-prince had all of his royal titles and privileges stripped from him this year following the scandal surrounding his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has denied any wrongdoing.
