Seeing his friend in such a vulnerable position, Chris knew he had to act. He understood how important it was for Norma to stay in a familiar environment — a place where she felt safe, loved, and surrounded by the memories of her long life. To help cover the costs of home care, he created a GoFundMe page, hoping the kindness of strangers could provide some financial relief. Together, they searched for caregivers who could help, but it soon became clear that nothing would be as comforting as having someone close who truly cared.

“The thought of her living out her last days in a hospital or nursing facility broke my heart,” Chris shared in an interview. “I wanted to give her the gift of living at home, surrounded by love, friends, and her cat Hermes. She deserved that much.”
