Jake Paul taken to hospital after suffering ‘double broken jaw’ in Anthony Joshua fight
The fight, scheduled for eight rounds, proved to be largely one-sided once Joshua found his rhythm. While Paul showed resilience and managed to survive into the later rounds, he struggled to land meaningful offense against Joshua’s power and experience. The decisive blows came in rounds five and six, when Joshua’s pressure overwhelmed him.
Paul did not attend the post-fight press conference, instead heading straight to the hospital for treatment. His promoter, Most Valuable Promotions CEO Nikisa Bidarian, later confirmed that Paul had suffered a broken jaw and is expected to need four to six weeks to recover. Despite the injury, Bidarian emphasized that Paul remained in good spirits and even drove himself to the hospital.
“I got my ass beat, but that’s what this sport is about,” Paul said. “I gave it everything I had. I’m going to heal up, fight someone my weight, and go for the cruiserweight world title.”
