My Overnight ACV Hair Treatment
Before starting, I made sure I had everything I needed: raw, unfiltered ACV, a spray bottle, a shower cap, and an old towel to keep my pillow clean. To make sure it wasn’t too strong, I mixed the vinegar with water in a 1:1 ratio. I also did a quick patch test on a small part of my scalp to make sure I wouldn’t have any bad reactions.
Once the mix was ready, I sprayed it all over my hair and scalp, making sure every part was covered. I massaged my scalp gently to help the liquid soak in better. After my hair was fully wet, I put on a shower cap to keep the solution from drying out or dripping. Then, I wrapped a towel around my pillow and went to sleep, excited to see the results in the morning.
The Next Morning: What I Found
The Results: Texture and Shine
After I dried my hair, I noticed an immediate difference. My hair was much softer and smoother, and it had a lot more shine. It felt like my hair’s outer layer was sealed, which meant less frizz and a smoother look. It seemed like the vinegar had done a great job of removing buildup, making my hair feel fresh and clean.
My scalp also felt clean and less itchy, which showed that the ACV had helped balance its pH. While it’s too early to say if it will help with long-term hair growth, healthier scalp conditions often lead to healthier hair. I didn’t have any dryness or flakiness, which can sometimes happen with other treatments.
Important Things to Remember
While my experience was mostly good, you should know that apple cider vinegar is acidic. If you don’t dilute it correctly, it can irritate your scalp. If you have sensitive skin or a specific scalp condition, be careful and always do a patch test first. Also, using ACV too often might lead to dryness, so it’s best to use it in moderation and always follow up with a conditioner or a hair mask.
