Cory Booker ties the knot with Alexis Lewis – and a lot of people are saying the same thing

The celebrations came just weeks after Booker announced their engagement in a heartfelt Instagram post that quickly captivated the public.

“Alexis is one of the greatest unearned blessings of my life,” he wrote at the time, sharing sun-soaked images from his beachside proposal in Kauai.

“She has transformed me… helping me ground and center my inner life, and discover the joys of building a nurturing home with someone you love.”

A love story set up by a friend

Booker and Lewis first met on a blind date in May 2024, thanks to a determined mutual friend with a reputation for matchmaking. During a June 2025 appearance on The Shade Room, Booker admitted that he initially resisted the idea.

“I at first said, ‘No, I’m not interested,’ because she lives in L.A. and I live in New Jersey and D.C.,” he recalled. But Lewis’ family roots in Washington, D.C. helped bridge the distance. And soon, geography stopped mattering.

Their first date stretched more than five hours. Booker persuaded Lewis to extend her travel plans so they could have a second date, which he later described as “even better than the first” — a night that included dinner in Newark, a Broadway show, a long walk, and their first kiss outside the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

Sharing small details

By mid-2025, Booker was sharing small details about their relationship, including the moment Lewis asked to see his TikTok “For You” page.

“I sort of held my breath,” he told the Washington Examiner, laughing as he remembered her discovering his love for food and animal videos. At the time, he revealed that they had been together for over a year and a half.

While Booker freely admits he Googled Lewis before their first date — “Who goes on a date anymore without doing a full Google search?” — she intentionally skipped the research.

“She wanted to meet me as I am,” he said.
