Bondi Beach hero asks emotional question as he’s handed $2.5 million check while in hospital

43-year-old Ahmed Al-Ahmed never hesitated to do what he could to stop the gunmen on Bondi Beach. The 43-year-old, who works as a fruit vendor, sprinted towards one of the gunmen, successfully disarming him as he shot toward people who celebrated Hannukkah at Bondi Beach on December 14.

Videos of Al-Ahmed tackling and disarming the shooter went viral, and he was praised as a true hero of the day. His actions most likely saved several lives.

The man was shot twice and had undergone surgery for his injuries. As he’s been at the hospital, one influencer decided to do his part in thanking Ahmed Al-Ahmed. Zachery Dereniowski co-organized a GoFundMe fundraiser to support him.
