Doctors often say that although women with Down syndrome can become pregnant, it is considered rare. And it is even rarer for men with Down syndrome to father children.

Because of this, Patti never imagined she would hear those words.

Lisa Was Already Living Independently — And Thriving

By 29, Lisa was living a life she had built with determination:

• She lived in her own apartment
