Two young sisters, Maggie (9) and Riley (11) Blevins, lost their lives in a heartbreaking house fire early Christmas morning in Kingsport. The fire broke out around 6:15 a.m. at their home on West Valley Drive, and despite emergency crews responding quickly, the girls could not be saved.
Their mother, Nicole Blevins, was seriously injured in the fire and remains in critical condition at a burn ICU in North Carolina. Officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Maggie was part of the Boone Ballerz youth basketball team, where her mother also served as a coach. The loss has deeply shaken teammates, friends, and the entire community.
Nicole Blevins lost everything in the fire — her home, her belongings, and most heartbreakingly, both of her daughters. She remains in critical condition, fighting to heal after unimaginable loss.
Around her, people are coming together with open hearts, doing everything they can to help her through the long road ahead — offering care, support, and love as she works toward recovery. This is what humanity looks like in its purest form: people lifting one another during the darkest moments.
Nothing can ever replace the children she lost, but through prayers, compassion, and togetherness, there is hope that her heart may one day find a path toward healing. Please keep Nicole in your prayers as she continues to fight and recover.
