Discovery and Official Response
According to official statements and law enforcement sources, paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical aid call at the Reiners’ residence shortly after 3:30 p.m. PST on Sunday.
Upon entering the home, emergency personnel found the bodies of a 78‑year‑old man and a 68‑year‑old woman, later confirmed to be Rob and Michele Singer Reiner.
The couple’s deaths were described by police as consistent with fatal stab wounds, and investigators quickly treated the case as an apparent homicide.
Sources close to the investigation told media outlets that there were no immediate signs of forced entry into the residence.
